Hey Book worms !! The times are depressing and the many of the countries are facing a lock-down . Life has come to a standstill and we all are getting bored from just sitting at home and not going out, and we are probably watching a lot of Netflix right now. This situation is however is an excellent opportunity to read .
TOP 5 POPULAR BOOKS I HAVEN’T READ YET
The Hate U Give – This 2017 novel follows Starr Carter, a 16-year-old girl navigating between the poor, mostly black neighborhood in which she lives and the affluent, mostly white private school where she spends her days. After she witnesses the fatal shooting of her black best friend by a white police officer, Starr is driven to find her voice and become an activist. WELL , I have to read this one soon as possible .
The Catcher in the Rye – But this list probably wouldn’t be complete without this classic. It’s peak coming-of-age storytelling that’s a really cool relic of youth in the mid-1900s. Holden Caulfield, the main character, exhibits an unapologetic authenticity and rebellion that has struck a chord with readers across generations. This is oneof the classics that shouldn’t be missed at all .
All the Bright Places- The central teenage duo in this romantic tragedy meet on a bell tower where both plan to commit suicide: popular girl Violet, who’s struggling with guilt and grief, and outcast Finch, who is deeply depressed. After talking one another down, they embark on a mission to visit significant sites in their state of Indiana and develop a romance along the way.
99 Percent Mine- The best-selling author of The Hating Game, Thorne brings us , a comedic love story about Darcy and her secret infatuation with her twin brother’s best friend. Darcy attempts to navigate her feelings for the extremely off-limits Tom while they work together to renovate her newly inherited cottage. I have loved The Hating Game immensely and can’t wait to read this one .
You’d Be Mine- Hahn tells the story of Annie Mathers, an heir to a country-music fortune being pursued by bad-boy musician Clay Coolidge. When Annie joins him on tour, fans begin to obsess over a potential relationship, but Annie has her doubts about Clay’s past. This looked so adorable when it came out I cant wait to read this one .
I hope you guys are safe and well and enjoyed this post . Have you read any of these of books ? Have you read about them ? What do you think ? Do you have any other books for me ? Let me know in the comments section .
I read All The Bright Places and didn’t particularly enjoy it. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t my favorite book of all time. I hope you like it way more than me if you ever get around to it! I’m super excited to read 99 Percent Mine! I also loved The Hating Game so I’m excited to read yet another story by Sally 😀

I’ve only read All the Bright Places but I didn’t enjoy it all that much, but I think if you’ve enjoyed the movie you should read the book when you get the chance because you might enjoy it after all! The Catcher in the Rye looks cool too, but it’s the kind of book where I’ve heard of a lot but don’t know what it’s actually about (so it may be time for me to finally find out right now heheh)

I’ve read THUG and Catcher in the Rye. I didn’t enjoy the latter but the former was pretty good, albeit flawed in some aspects.

I’ve read “All The Bright Places” and it was good, but not my number one favorite. It had a good start, but then the plot weakened. I’ve also read “THUG” and I thought it was engaging and relevant with social issues. If I were you, I would read THUG and a book similar to All the Bright Places.

I loved THUG, and if you love audiobooks I would recommend it – it was FABULOUS!!! I was disappointed by 99 Percent Mine there is just no way around, it didn’t measure up to my expectations. BUT I LOVED You’d Be Mine, it was easy, cute, adorable, light-hearted – the perfect story for a time like we are having right now 🙈

I am taking some serious comfort in books at the moment. I’ve read basically double the amount I usually do since the lockdown started and I can’t go and see my friends 😦 Or work.
I have read a few of these and they are fantastic. I particularly recommend The Hate You Give. It is absolutely amazing – it more than lives up to the hype.

It’s an unpopular opinion but I enjoyed Catcher in the Rye. I guess many people don’t like it because it’s a bit depressing to read about the psychoanalysis of a teenage boy. Read it in high school English Lit so it’s expected to have deeper meaning than YA genre.

I remember reading Catcher in the Rye in high school and not being super fond of it. But some of my friends really enjoyed it. I think it’s one of those hit or miss books b/c everyone I’ve spoken to who has read it either thought it was super boring or thought it was really good. 🤔

I read Catcher in the Rye in middle school and high school. Sheesh that was a long time ago. I cannot even say if I remember the storyline to say if I am fond of it now or not. I might have to reread it honestly answer that. I also read the Hate you Give right before the movie came out. It was a good book.
