Hi Bookworms, How are you? What have you been reading recently?

Some of my happiest, and most looked-forward-to days of the year are the ones that I reserve for the re-reading of Pride and Prejudice. To quote Austen herself from Sense and Sensibility: ‘if a book is well written, I always find it too short,’

“Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen started off annoying me and ended up enchanting me. I now count myself as a convert to the Austen cult. I have watched the movie umpteenth times and will rewatch it today.

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work “her own darling child” and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, “as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print.”

The book starts with the following quote:” It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. The story starts with Mrs. Bennet wanting her daughters to be married with good fortune. Of all the sisters the best of them is Elizabeth Bennet, her lively mind and good looks just make you feel closer to our protagonist. Of course, one can simply love the mysterious Darcy. We love P&P mainly because we love Mr. Darcy. Without him, there would be far fewer P&P fans. Characters are well developed with the plot settings as well.

One of the EPIC CLASSICS OF ALL time. Let’s Chat in the Comment Section. XOXO
