Hey Bookworms!! How are you , it is winter here and well it is the ultimate time for loads of hot coffee and well lazing around as if we haven’t been doing around this 2020 especially with me attending classes on the Bed . So my lazy self wanted to make a post of winter reading . 2020 has been not our year we can hope that 2021 is better with loads of hope . I have my end-semester exams from the first week of December and well it is gonna be quiet hectic so fingers crossed.
Here are few of my thriller recommendation’s , cuz sometimes you get in the mood for a little suspense, and there’s no better way to scratch that itch than with a killer book—literally. Thrillers and mysteries never fail to get your heart pumping, making you turn the page at warp speed while also delivering an oddly satisfying uneasiness about what’s to come. HERE LET’S BEGIN WITH THE THRILLER RECS PT.1
The Girl on the Train – Created into a 2016 drama starring Emily Blunt, this story follows Rachel Watson, a commuter who catches sight of the same alluring couple every day while on her train ride. But on one ride, she witnesses something shocking, and unexpectedly becomes embroiled in an ever-complicated investigation. This is like the OG thriller , with a superb writing style and character’s this book is still counted as one of the best thriller of this decade .
Before I go to Sleep – is about a woman called Christine who wakes up every morning with no memory of who she is. Through labeled pictures and the help of her husband, every day she pieces together her life and learns of the accident that made her this way. But then a visit from a mysterious doctor leads her towards the private journal she has been writing to herself – a journal that tells her things might not be as they seem and the one person she should be able to trust could be lying. Personally, I found this book so thrilling. I even loved the movie featuring Nicole Kidman .
Sadie – One of the most intriguing young adult thriller .Well , this is Sadie’s story and how she embarks on the journey to avenge her sisters, Mattie’s murder . This is a very personal story and the readers create a emotional bond with the story. This is the book which is both harrowing and intense . This was a raw, emotional, and incredibly dark book. Sadie reads like a puzzle, with half of the story being told from Sadie’s perspective and half from the perspective of a man doing a podcast on Sadie’s disappearance. It’s partially up to you to piece together the timeline, which I loved!
Behind Closed Doors-Picture-perfect newlyweds Jack and Grace are the couple you love to hate. He has the money and perfect job, and she is a beautiful homemaker. But when you look closer, they’re almost too flawless, and Grace is nearly unreachable and impossible to get to know—eerily so. B.A. Paris delivered an interesting, page turner thriller that will almost give you anxiety attacks. The story is written really well and overall it was a pretty addictive read!
Rebecca – In this 1938 classic—and National Book Award winner—newlywed Mrs. Maxim de Winter must adapt to her new unsettling life as she uncovers the dark secrets of her husband’s beautiful first wife, Rebecca. Recently , Netflix released the anticipated movie based on the novel and well my interest in the book was piqued again . Finely written book with loads of turns and twists.
The Silent Patient – 2019’s standout thriller follows Alicia Berenson, a celebrated painter married to a famed fashion photographer. But one day, she shoots her husband in the face…five times…and never speaks again. A psychotherapist called Theo Faber narrates the story and he announces early on that he’s pretty “fucked up”. He worms his way into a new job at the Grove mental health facility because of his fascination with the artist Alicia Berenson, who murdered her husband in an open-and-shut case and hasn’t spoken a word since. There is so much story woven altogether that by the end of the book , you are awestruck .
I have many more books in my thriller recs but right now I could recall only these and I will obviously come with a pt.2 as usual and till then let’s chat in the comment section . Do you also love reading thrillers like me ? What are your favorite thrillers ?? Tell ME!!!
