Hello Bookworms!! Today is Sunday and a pretty lazy day like each and every Sunday . My Sundays are indulged in the watching Korean dramas and binging on Netflix or just enjoying the art of doing nothing . So I just finished this super awesome thriller , Confessions on the 7:45: A Novel, continuing my thriller obsession , I am planning to read more mystery and crime thrillers as it gives my brain some thinking to do as I try to guess the the culprit and the further course of action which it makes it more fun and interesting . So here is a quick review down below and lets talk in comment section about lazy Sundays as well 😉

“Don’t you ever wish your problems would take care of themselves?”

My Rating: 4 Stars

Plot: Selena Murphy is commuting home on the train when she strikes up a conversation with a beautiful stranger in the next seat. The woman introduces herself as Martha and soon confesses that she’s been stuck in an affair with her boss. Selena, in turn, confesses that she suspects her husband is sleeping with the nanny. When the train arrives at Selena’s station, the two women part ways, presumably never to meet again. Then the nanny disappears. As Selena is pulled into the mystery of what happened, and as the fractures in her marriage grow deeper, she begins to wonder, who was Martha really? But she is hardly prepared for what she’ll discover…

“There was no undoing the bad without losing the good. That was the trick of it all.”

The story begins with Selena Murphy realizing that her husband Graham is cheating yet again, this time with the nanny Geneva. She’s had enough and one evening on the 7.45 train she unburdens to a stranger who reciprocates. This stranger is Martha and then things go voila . A few days later, Geneva disappears and Selena life gradually implodes. Like things begin to happen and Selena’s life takes a down turn . The story is in multiple POVS and that could definitely get confusing but by midway of the book , there is a inkling of the various woman you start to understand the women of the book , their secrets and consequences of their actions . I had come up with a theory myself halfway through the book and believe me I was 90% correct and yet it was a fun read. The major pro about this book was the beautiful way the characters were crafted by the author , the emotions were raw and the struggle was real . I could empathize with the hardships of Pearl , the strong attitude of Selena and all these characters make the book a worthwhile read. I stayed up whole night till 3 to read this book and yes it did not disappoint . The end was satisfactorily as well .Thriller reviews are tough to write as you want to tell so much but yet you don’t want to delve into spoilers. The writing was wonderful, descriptive and filled the story with atmosphere and suspense!

Lies, secrets and manipulation were all big themes in Confessions on the 7:45, as a dark and unsettling thriller with multiple characters, which pulls you in immediately, and doesn’t let up until the end!
