Hello Bookworms. How are you guys? Today is India’s 74th Independence Day and there has been a lot of celebration. The mood is very patriotic. The pandemic has obviously restricted our lives to a large extent but well this is the new normal . With no online classes today , I feel relieved and so I just wanted to talk about the all the content I have being seeing on Netflix. This is my attempt in trying to talk about more things likeTV shows or films so we can bond over than things beyond books(don’t get me wrong, I love books).

I had been planning to watch this for quite some long time and I am glad that I finally decided to watch . Yippe !! I pretty much enjoy watching it and have a good laugh over it and its altogether fun. Currently I am on Season 6 Episode 1 ^fingers crossed 😉 I can see what the hype is all about, it is really hilarious.

Work It (2020) An awkward 18-year-old achieves near-perfection by sheer hard work. She vows to transform her gawkiness through dance, and refine her skills until she competes at a competition.
Just watched it last night and well it was a pretty good dance movie with a great cast. It had teen vibes and loads of dance scenes as well, as expected. The chemistry between the main leads, played by Sabrina Carpenter and Jordan Fischer was honestly jaw-dropping.

365 Day (2020)Massimo is a member of the Sicilian Mafia family and Laura is a sales director. She does not expect that on a trip to Sicily trying to save her relationship, Massimo will kidnap her and give her 365 days to fall in love with him.
Well this has been trending on the top 10 netflix list for quite some time and yes I watched it, although I had my reservations at first . With the “Fifty Shades of Grey” vibes, I wasn’t really expecting much, but I ended up really liking the movie. Actor Michele Morrone, the main lead was fantastic and he became my crush no. 156789 (lol).

Love Rosie (2014) Rosie and Alex have been friends since childhood and cannot imagine themselves as a couple. However, when they head in different directions, they realize that they are made for each other.
A friend of mine recommended this movie to me, it was on his Favorites List and I am so glad I picked it up. It became one of my favorite movies too . The whole concept is so heartwarming and these characters are so dear to my heart ❤ .

One Day (2011) Dexter and Emma decide to meet every year on 15 July and see where they stand in life. Over a period of 18 years, they feel that they have more to share in common than the people around them.
This is another gem that I adored and loved . Anna Hathway and Jim Sturgess show a path of unlikely friendship and love . Very similar to Love Rosie but there is a bunch of character development of the male lead and that was a plus point in the movie .

Us and Them (2018) Two strangers meet on a train and form a bond that evolves over the years. After a separation, they reconnect and reflect on their love for each other.
A Chinese Netflix original movie which beautifully showcased the human relationships and its beauty .A chance encounter on the train leads to an unlikely friendship between our main leads as they try to make ends meet in the bustling city of Beijing. The ups and downs of being young and poor is explored. I really like how realistically everything is portrayed. Also, the cinematography is stunning, with the present scenes being shot in B&W.

The Proposal – I absolutely adore Jasmine Guillory ‘s writing and I love rom-coms so picked this book to be my next read and well I am 100 pages through this book and its pretty fun filled and breezy. Just a perfect summery read.

You had me at Hola – I recieved this ARC and I was sooo hooked to it. Don’t even get me started this drop dead gorgeous cover of the book . It was a perfect summer read based in the drama-filled world of telenovelas. Click here to view my review.

What are you guys reading or watching ?? Any new favorites ? Have you watched any of the above titles ? Let’s chat in the comments section .

I’m currently watching “Atypical” on Netflix. It’s a teen-drama about a boy with autism. It’s really good so far! I’m also planning to watch “Work It” because it’s trending here in our country, the Philippines.
And oh, Happy Independence Day! ❤️

Us and Them sounds so good! Ugh if i meet anyone on public transport it’s always a weird old guy who wants to talk to me about trains rather than some life changing connection 🙁.
I really want to read some Jasmine Guillory. I don’t read a ton of romance but I’m in the mood – I blame the summer time

One Day made me cry my eyes out!! 365 is a funny one to Netflix Party with a friend. I really have just been for things to make me laugh so I’ve been watching “Are You The One?” with my friend. The reality show drama in season 1 is hilarious.
I’m currently reading The Remnant Chronicles series. Loving it. Have you read them?
