Hey Bookworms !! The times are depressing and tough for all of us . So sometimes you just need a book that will lift your spirits and restore your faith in humanity, are we right? Sometimes we don’t even need something on such a large scale. Sometimes, just a book that will make you feel a little better, a little happier, a little safer, will do. So I bring a bunch of books that make me happy .
Tweet Cute – This rom-com was made for the Twitter generation that can’t get enough of social media wars between food brand accounts. On the outside, it’s a Twitter war between a fast-food chain and a deli about a stolen grilled cheese recipe. Behind the scenes, a completely unexpected romance escalates between the classmates who run the accounts. Yup, love can be found in places you’d absolutely never expect!
Leah On The OffBeat – When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic. She’s an anomaly in her friend group: the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon. So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.
To All the Boy’s I’ve Ever Loved – Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.
Geekerella – Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad’s old costume, Elle’s determined to win – unless her stepsisters get there first.Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons – before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake – until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?
The Upside of Unrequited – Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.
Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. If Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back. There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker, Reid. He’s a chubby Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him.
Fangirl – Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan…
But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.
Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone.

Leah on the off beat, and the upside of unrequited sound so much fun! I can’t remember the last time I read YA fiction, but these are really making me want to explore the genre again! I think the last time I read a YA novel was 2017 (wow), and it was All the Bright Places, which is definitely one of my favourite books!

Fangirl has been on my TBR for years. It seems so well loved. I have the whole To All The Boys series somewhere, but again, not read it. And The Upside of Unrequited sound so cute. Love a nerdy character book. Thanks for sharing these. We definitely need more fluffy reads.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is definitely one of the library books that I’m planning to get out once they reopen. (Along with Red, White & Royal Blue which was finally in transit for me when they closed). This is a lovely list and I definitely need to start reading more YA contemporary.

Fangirl is definitely one of my comfort reads! I’ve reread it more times than I can keep track of! I think some of my other comfort reads are The Kiss Quotient and Red, White, & Royal Blue. I also have some other favorites that I’ll pick up depending on my mood when I want to recall some nostalgia. Sometimes I won’t even read the full book! Just rereading my favorite scenes is enough to comfort me!
