Hey Bookworms , Summer is blazing down at us with temperature soaring . Summer is here for the year . This Summer is altogether different , no travel plans , no plans for the summer . With travel to far-flung locations largely off the table and the countries under lock-down we’re looking for books that can transport us all on their own. Books that bring a little cheer to our lives .
Crazy Rich Asians- When Rachel Chu agrees to meet her boyfriend, Nick’s, family, in Singapore, she has no idea what she’s in for. Nick’s family is not just rich, but “crazy” rich—and they’re not keen on an outsider marrying the heir to the fortune. The best part of Crazy Rich Asians isn’t just the hilarious writing or gripping rom-com plot. It’s that there are two more books in the series to read after.
The Bride Test- Hoang’s sequel to The Kiss Quotient—another pick on this list—follows Khai, a secondary character from her first book. After years of believing he’s incapable of love, he meets his match with Esme, a transplant from Vietnam who’s also hesitant about finding true love—for good reason. As she did in The Kiss Quotient, in The Bride Test,Hoang manages to humanize autism through characters who are as befuddling as they are lovable.
The Wedding Party – Jasmine Guillory is the queen of contemporary romance. If you’ve been following Guillory’s two previous novels, The Wedding Date and The Proposal (though I haven’t finished Proposal Yet. ), then her most recent book picks up with the acquaintances of familiar characters Alexa and Drew. Alexa and Drew are getting married, but the story primarily involves their friends and wedding party members, Theo and Maddie. Theo and Maddie initially engage in a casual fling, but, as you might suspect, their feelings quickly evolve into something deeper.
You’d Be Mine – This book basically revolved around music ,finding one’s first love and ill-effects of fame, especially at a young age . You’d Be Mine follows a wide array of characters but mainly Annie and Clay, two rising ,talented country music artists, who don’t get along with each other. But when they are forced to be together on a summer-long tour around the US, they discover they have more in common than they previously thought. We follow them on their journey as Annie and Clay face their own inner demons and challenges and overcome them.
The FlatShare-Tiffy and Leon share a flat
Tiffy and Leon share a bed
Tiffy and Leon have never met. Have you heard something more bizarre? But this book turns out to be the one which makes you laugh and fall in love with the characters and their whole awkward situation and not long after you are rooting for these characters and their romance. This debut novel of Beth O’Leary is one of those reads which are perfect to finish in one go .
The Hating Game – A hilarious depiction of the enemies-to-lovers trope, Thorne’s piece follows an intense workplace hatred between Lucy and Joshua, who soon compete for the same promotion and consequently set tensions to an all-time high. But, of course, what seems like their boiling point is just the beginning of a flourishing office romance.
Have you read any of them ? Do you love the first line of the books you read or you are one of those people who judge the book by its cover ? Any recommendations for me ? Let’s chat in the comments section

Aw haha, this is such a sweet list! I’ve read The Hating Game, which was cute, and I adore the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy. I also love anything that Helen Hoang writes, so I love that you recommended The Bride Test. I’m so ready for her next book, The Heart Principle!! Finally, I’ve only read the Wedding Date but I really need to catch up with the rest of Guillory’s series. Wonderful list!
