Plot: Nate Jae-Woo Kim wants to be rich. When one of his classmates offers Nate a ridiculous amount of money to commit grade fraud, he knows that taking the windfall would help support his prideful Korean family, but is compromising his integrity worth it?Luck comes in the form of Kate Anderson, Nate’s colleague at the zombie-themed escape room where he works. She approaches Nate with a plan: a local tech company is hosting a weekend-long survivalist competition with a huge cash prize. It could solve all of Nate’s problems, and Kate needs the money too. If the two of them team up, Nate has a true shot at winning the grand prize. But the real challenge? Making through the weekend with his heart intact…

Well . This was one fluffy and adorable read , A book with less than 300 pages with a cute romance. What more could have the readers asked. I really enjoyed the book . The best part of the book was that it was a quick read and i finished it in one sitting. Nate comes from a poor background known as a skid (scholarship kid) who attends an elite private school. He’s Korean-American and wants his family to live a comfortable life, without fearing about budgets and spending money to fix the house. So when he gets once in a life time opportunity to earn money he grabs it with Kate, his co-worker at the zombie escape room and in the process falls in love with her . Kate has recently lost her mom and her father is also very absent from her life as he was the CEO of this tech company. Their relationship is very troubled , which I could relate with.
The two of them decide to participate in a zombie survival competition to earn the grand prize. 40% of the book was centered around establishing the characters and setting and the next 60% was based on the competition. The characters had instant attraction and it was so simple and free of those cliches, which made it refreshing . The side characters included Nate’s 5 year old sister ,Lucy who was adorable and cute and add a fresh twist .
Wow, is there anything more beautiful than this? Sometimes we wish to enjoy the book and it not be much realistic , which works out fine . THE PERFECT ESCAPE made me laugh out loud countless times. It was a cool , funny , with adorable MCs . The only thing I wanted more was romance and a few more kissess as their chemistry was so beautiful .
