My Rating – 4.5 Stars Published December 1st 2009 (Grand Central Publishing )

Plot- An angry rebel, John dropped out of school and enlisted in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life–until he meets the girl of his dreams, Savannah. Their mutual attraction quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and John wanting to settle down with the woman who has captured his heart. But 9/11 changes everything. John feels it is his duty to re-enlist. And sadly, the long separation finds Savannah falling in love with someone else. Dear John, the letter read… and with those two words, a heart was broken and two lives were changed forever. Returning home, John must come to grips with the fact that Savannah, now married, is still his true love—and face the hardest decision of his life.

So this is one of one of those books that I had to read for a long time and I just always enjoy the writings of Nicholas Spark . His writing is so lucid nd the plot is so well written . One if the best things about Nicholas Spark writing is that he always write in simple and lucid language . The words are like a fresh breath of air and they savor in the mouth . I absolutely adored his all time favorite classic , The Notebook .

“Our story has three parts: a beginning, a middle, and an end. And although this is the way all stories unfold, I still can’t believe that ours didn’t go on forever.”
― Nicholas Sparks, Dear John

OF Course as a young teenager , I had a hard time coming up with grasping the story line and especially the ending the story . The story was quick paced and absolutely gulped the book in a go. The story about John and Savannah is told in first person narrative .

You can always tell you’re reading a great book when you find yourself skipping ahead into the final chapters to see how things will be resolved, even though you’ve vowed you wouldn’t. Love doesn’t always have a happy ending (especially when it comes to a Nicholas Sparks novel) and this is a wonderful, albeit quick tear-jerking romance.
