Plot: Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth-shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong.

”I have a theory. Hating someone feels disturbingly similar to being in love with them.”
What took me so long to read this? I mean I have been seeing this book literally everywhere , but hadn’t come to read this one . So lately , I read Helen Hoang’s books and then goodreads recommended me this and I knew I had to give this book a shot . Plus, it was worth it !! The most Cliche-est tropes yet my favorite , Enemies to lovers . I seriously love this trope , if properly executed and Sally Thorne just does so . Plus , the setting is a Book Publishing Unit .

Hating someone is such a intense feeling and it just strikes the reader from page one , Josh and Lucy just hate each other and using every ounce of energy to bring each other down . They keep a tab on each others every activities . I mean there is saying that hating may turn into love and just a kiss in the elevator, questions there hatred towards each other. WOW!! Seriously the tension between the two characters , just envelopes the reader.
Along with the chemistry between the two characters, there was a banter which I was laughing off throughout the book. Josh and Lucy could really fight over any cause , just to bring the other down . The Book is in Lucy’s POV but a few chapters of Josh’s POV would not have hurt . In fact , I would have loved to know what goes inside his pretty head.
I mean this is one of those books that you can devour it in a single session, I did ! and still Re-Read it someday again. A romance that begins with Hate, then this for you .
Have you read the book ?? Are you planning to read the book ?? Let’s Chat in the comments Section !!

I read the book long ago. I remember liking it. Fantastic review as always

This looks so cool! The use of tropes seems to play very well together, and I am excited to read this, and then perhaps watch the film if it continues to pique my interest. Great post!

I love The Hating Game – it’s so FUN and STEAMY! Of course, it’s super cliché, but I love that too actually 😅. Easy contemporary romance reads are my favorite.
