Synopsis : Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride. As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.

“He could give her everything she wanted, a green card, real diamonds, his body, but love? Stone hearts didn’t love. She knew why he couldn’t love her. She could go to school, change her clothes, and change her speech, but she could never change where she’d come from.” – Excerpt

I am literalyyy swooning , ever since I read this book , I think I like flawed characters more than the A -one perfect  ones. I know I am not making any sense , but hear me through . Khai has a block against the world because he is Autistic and that actually stops him communicating what he feels . Enter Esme, a mail order bride from Ho Chi Minh City , staying together under one roof for a summer  . // Doesn’t it sounds similar but it is two different ideologies staying under one roof who have palatable chemistry . They have nothing in common and no similarities yet are drawn to each other . I think Helen Hoang is a new Romance Queen.

Khai’s story is very different from Stella even both of them have Autism, maybe because Men are hard and they have a shield which has difficult to break and him finding love and actually understanding that he is capable of love is what I sum up the book to be. Esme, our cute little 23 year old heroine from Vietnam is capable capturing Our Khai’s heart. She is waitresses in the day and goes to night school as well . I loved that the book was diverse , I love reading about other cultures , it broadens up my horizons. The Book comes out Today . You Can Order your copies at Amazon .
