Plot :Kimi Nakamura loves a good fashion statement. She’s obsessed with transforming everyday ephemera into Kimi Originals: bold outfits that make her and her friends feel brave, fabulous, and like the Ultimate versions of themselves. But her mother sees this as a distraction from working on her portfolio paintings for the prestigious fine art academy where she’s been accepted for college. So when a surprise letter comes in the mail from Kimi’s estranged grandparents, inviting her to Kyoto for spring break, she seizes the opportunity to get away from the disaster of her life. When she arrives in Japan, she loses herself in Kyoto’s outdoor markets, art installations, and cherry blossom festival–and meets Akira, a cute med student who moonlights as a costumed mochi mascot. What begins as a trip to escape her problems quickly becomes a way for Kimi to learn more about the mother she left behind, and to figure out where her own heart lies.

Well to begin with the book ,I Love You So Mochi. I just loved the cover of the book and hence requested the book . Glad that I read this . It was delicious like a Mochi and I devoured it all at once .

Mochi is a type of Japanese confectionary made from pounded pasty rice and molded into shape. The book was a sweet Young Adult Contemporary with the setting in Japan . The readers are introduced to Japan and its food culture .

I have lately been fascinated by the beauty of Asian culture especially after the heavy influence of Korean dramas. Ever since I had read the blurb my interest was piqued .
This was such a fun, YA contemporary. Kimi Nakamura is torn between finding her one true passion in life. The storyline is a simple one with our protagonist, Kimi budding designer going on a self discovery to Japan , meeting a cutie asian, Akira ( I mean even the name is kinda cute ) .

Instant attraction and falling for him and so on ……  This is one for the lighthearted reader’s or those who wanna fall in the love at the first sight. You can’t except much from these books accept from the fact that when you read them you have a smile on your face even though the story sounds the usual cliche . The book did sounded off at times and nevertheless I wholly enjoyed the book as I am sucker for Contemporary ones . It was cute and adorable read .

Recommended for YA Contemporary Readers .
