Jules Ember was raised hearing legends of the ancient magic of the wicked Alchemist and the good Sorceress. But she has just learned the truth: not only are the stories true, but she herself is the Alchemist, and Caro—a woman who single-handedly murdered the Queen and Jules’s first love, Roan, in cold blood—is the Sorceress.

The whole kingdom believes that Jules is responsible for the murders, and a hefty bounty has been placed on her head. And Caro is intent on destroying Jules, who stole her heart twelve lifetimes ago. Jules must delve into the stories that she now recognizes are accounts of her own past. For it is only by piecing together the mysteries of her lives that Jules will be able to save the person who has captured her own heart in this one.

ARC provided from the publisher via Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review (thank you HarperCollins & HarperTeen!!)

Well To Begin with, I just completed loved Everless and it was my first read of 2018 and it was super fantastic . I was completely , utterly pleased to receive the ARC . (Actually I was new to the world of ARCs back then . ) What a coincidence , that   my first review of the year 2019 is Evermore, the much-anticipated sequel to Everless.

“Don’t you know, Jules? Everything worth doing is dangerous.”

To begin with,  the blue cover is so amazing, I always say that Books should not be judged by their cover but I can’t help it .They did a really good job with the cover this time .The story takes no time to immediately jump back into action and continue from where the first book had left off and I am so glad it did,  Because Jules was running away and then what happened post that was very important to know as a reader. Everless focused on lot of world building of Kingdom of Sempera , telling us the setting of the book, emphasizing on the story of Alchemist and Sorceress and the use of  time as currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one’s own lifespan. But on the contrary, the book two is exactly opposite as it solely emphasis on Jules ( the protagonist ) . The shift is very mush evident between the two books . Sara Holland did create a beautiful world in Everless which she kept alive in spite of few glitches , for instance the the series  started as more of a science fiction but then it came down as Regular Young Adult Fantasy (Not that I am disappointed , it is just a mere observation.)

I wont go much into the plot details as I don’t want to spoil the book for the readers who haven’t read the first book. But I can still say loads about the book .  ❤

“The only way to kill pure evil is with pure love”

The story is once again in the back drop of Kingdom of Sempera , which the author has created and Evil has spread everywhere , the only solution is our Jules , (sounds familiar doesn’t it!!) but Holland does wonders and brings loads of flashbacks which shed more light on the storyline . Another important thing , that Everless lacked Romance , while romance is rushed in the second book between Jules and Liam . It wasn’t unbelievable , and well I liked it better  .The Author really sums up the story , the book has a knitted  finish , I couldn’t have asked for more . The story is for the fans of Young Adult Fantasy . ❤
