My Rating: ๐๐๐๐๐
Plot :My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, Iโm allergic to the world. I donโt leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.
But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. Heโs tall, lean and wearing all blackโblack T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.
Maybe we canโt predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. Itโs almost certainly going to be a disaster.
“In the beginning there was nothing. And then there was everything.โ
โJust because you canโt experience everything doesnโt mean you shouldnโt experience anything.โ
Well to begin with this my one of my favourite young adult books of all times and I still wonder why I didn’t ever review this book on this blog .Maybe I think it’s because I couldn’t form coherent thoughts about this book. Well I thinks a high time to talk about this one and share my opinions in order to hear yours.
I think I loved Everything Everything for various reasons which I try to sum up below:
I mean it’s difficult to sum up when I love Everything about this one .๐ Nevertheless let’s begin (Drums Rolling ๐)
- The unique Protagonist, Maddy is a booklover who loves reading but she hasn’t stepped out of the house for 17 years as she suffers from SCID. She writes one liner review and she is adorable.
- Olly, the boy next door who always dreses in black who is such a handsome ,kind and everything in between who becomes Maddy ‘s friend and her sole reason for living. Thier conversations are the essence of the book and some of them are out rightly funny.
- Nicola Yoon ‘s writing style is superb and so captivating with easy English a perfect read anytime. Also her heart breaking and story changing twist (not to mention the sensation it caused for me ) .
- The best part about this book that made it altogether different was the beautiful illustrations on various pages which carried the beauty of the story .I just loved those ..๐
I loved the characters, the storyline and everything about this book . I go with 5 Stars for this beautiful masterpiece.
It sounds like a fun book… but I’m not yet convinced that I should read it? Maybe it’s my personal bias against an overabundance of gifs shifting around on the screen when I’m trying to read.
What’s the pacing like? Is the dialogue any good? Is there any cursing or alcohol use or sex that might make a delicate reader uncomfortable? Is it suitable for reading aloud? Does it teach a good lesson (a lesson worth living)?

I didn’t read the book, but watched the movie and didn’t like it. It was too YA fluffy romance and I just don’t like those kind of movies :”(

Honestly? I found it cheesy at first, what, with the whole disease thingy but I was drawn by it’s uniqueness anyway. I LOVE this book.

I absolutely love this book! It’s definitely one of my favourite YA novels. I love that you included one of Maddy’s doodles ๐ Have you read ‘The Sun is also a Star’ by the same author? I would love to know what you think of it!
