My Rating : 5 πππππ
Plot :Clever, rich – and single – Emma Woodhouse is perfectly content with her life and sees no need for either love or marriage. Nothing, however, delights her more than interfebring in the romantic lives of others. But when she ignores the warnings of her good friend Mr. Knightley and attempts to arrange a suitable match for her protegee Harriet Smith, her carefully laid plans soon unravel and have consequences that she never expected. With its imperfect but charming heroine and its witty and subtle exploration of relationships, Emma is often seen as Jane Austen’s most flawless work.
βI may have lost my heart, but not my self-control. …
I just totally loved this book. I mean I was so engrossed in the book from very beginning. I am HUGE FAN of Pride and Prejudice and I just can’t wait to devour the same kind of books . I just loved this one for various reasons that I have listed below .
- Well to began with our Protagonist, Emma is not a usual kind of heroine . She is flawed, selfish , rich and usually her main task is to find love for others . She is certainly not like my beloved Characters, Elizabeth (Pride and Prejudice ) and Anne Elliott (Persuasion ) But She has her own charm which makes the book A delightful read .
- Another thing about this book that I particularly liked was the various subplots in the novel. It was not just Emma’s story but of other young people of her estate and how they fall in love and Emma’s involvement in their life. I was happy to see a great bunch of people and with so many delightful proportion of humour induced.
- Another thing about Jane Austen’s novel is a great deal of beautifully designed and written Dialogues. There are some great plus points about this book.
-
And then thereβs Mr. Knightley. Ugh.What isnβt there to love? But still, I thought Mr. Knightley was a great character, and I definitely have a little book crush on him. His maturity and his charm is irresistible.
It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced a book like this. The fantasy aspect drew me in, but the souls of the people telling the story kept me reading.
I loved the characters, the storyline and everything about this book . I go with 5 Stars for this beautiful masterpiece.
Emma is on my TBR, but I’d been delaying it because I vaguely remember getting bored the last time I picked it up. I imagine things will be different this time, since it’s been a long time and I like to imagine I’m more mature as a reader now.

I liked Pride and Prejudice but I’m not fan of it. Maybe I was not into classic at that time or I chose to read it at wrong time so never tried any other Jane Austen book. I will give this a try after some time, maybe next year. Great review!

I think Emma is one of her funniest books. It’s so easy to see the satire, yet she’s never completely mean about it. And I’m a total Mr. Knightly fangirl.
