My Rating: 3 STARS

Genre : Romance and Fantasy

Released on : 3 May 2018

Plot: I am neither monster nor man – yet I am both.

I am the Beast.

I know why I was cursed; I know the legacy of evil I carry in my tainted blood. So how could she ever love me?

My Isabeau. She opened my eyes, my mind and my heart when I was struggling just to be human.

And now I might lose her forever.

Amazing retelling of the age old Disney Classic ‘Beauty and the Beast ‘.
The book explores the story from the perspective of the Beast . I have seen a boon in the recent times and I am a huge sucker of Disney Classics so I had to read this one as well.

The story is the same as that of Beauty and the Beast with a bit variations here and there . I liked the storyline immensely even if it was very simple . To begin with the story is a cliche , you can’t deny that fact but the overall presentation of the story is lovely. My heart goes out for the Beast and you immediately like him nevertheless. Isabeau also likes him instantly. Yeah, she is the main character very very similar to our Disney’s Bella.

The romance between the two is very limited . Also at the Beast asking her hand for marriage too many times makes the book tedious at some points.
The characters are well sketched and both Isabeu and Beast connect with the readers at once. The feelings of Beast are presented well as it is much needed , adding new perspective to the story . Coming back to the things which I didn’t liked , I feel that there was not much happening at times and my interest in the book was reduced quite a few times. The pace of the story seemed sluggish and the book stretched. I mean , the author could have shortened it by 50 pages or so.MmEz_f-maxage-0_s-200x150.gif

Also I feel that the author could have done something fresh with the story but she sticks to the original story at many points thus making it a boring tale. But nevertheless as a a fan I give it 3 Stars .

This book is for Fans of Disney Classics and those who believe in True Love ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. I don’t know whether to be excited that it’s basically the same story just switched perspectives or to be a bit disappointed that she didn’t use any creativity with it. I think I will still read this though. Lovely review xx

  3. I started an ARC last week that was Beast: A story of love and revenge retelling with twists but that was damn boring, I DNFed it…Writing retelling of classics is a HUGE duty which needs more effort to keep readers engaged and this thing is lacking ๐Ÿ˜”

  4. This seems like it would have so much more to offer. It’s sad when it is a slow read and pretty much the same story we’ve all read before. It still sounds like something enjoyable to read. Great review! ๐Ÿ™‚
