My Rating:5 Stars Genre: Romance
“We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me, love like that has only happened once, and that’s why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I’ll never forget a single moment of it.” ― Nicholas Sparks
Plot : A man with a faded, well-worn notebook open in his lap. A woman experiencing a morning ritual she doesn’t understand. Until he begins to read to her. The Notebook is an achingly tender story about the enduring power of love, a story of miracles that will stay with you forever. Set amid the austere beauty of coastal North Carolina in 1946, The Notebook begins with the story of Noah Calhoun, a rural Southerner returned home from World War II. Noah, thirty-one, is restoring a plantation home to its former glory, and he is haunted by images of the beautiful girl he met fourteen years earlier, a girl he loved like no other. Unable to find her, yet unwilling to forget the summer they spent together, Noah is content to live with only memories. . . until she unexpectedly returns to his town to see him once again. Allie Nelson, twenty-nine, is now engaged to another man, but realizes that the original passion she felt for Noah has not dimmed with the passage of time. Still, the obstacles that once ended their previous relationship remain, and the gulf between their worlds is too vast to ignore. With her impending marriage only weeks away, Allie is forced to confront her hopes and dreams for the future, a future that only she can shape. Like a puzzle within a puzzle, the story of Noah and Allie is just beginning. As it unfolds, their tale miraculously becomes something different, with much higher stakes.
OMG!!Why did I not read Nicholas Spark’s books earlier?? I have seen the his books at book shops but never bought them until recently …. I recently read THE NOTEBOOK and I totally loved the book soooooooo much . I loved it so much that I read this in a day .. The book had barely 170 pages. It’s not too cheesy or corny as most romances but it had the perfect dose in right amount with a different and captivating storyline .
The book took my Breath away with its lucid writing .
It is a story of the central characters Noah and Allie who fell in love as teens but Destiny separated them and they meet again 14 years later . This is the zest of the story and I won’t say much because it’s a spoiler free review . If you love this review ,then you should grab this book and read it asap. Seriously this book is about True Love and how it survives after so many years. This makes the book a enjoyable ,engrossing, one -night read .
“I want all of you, forever, you and me, everyday.
The characters of Noah and Allie are beautifully crafted .Noah is a charming person who loves reading poetry and he loves to read them out loud to Allie. You will see a lot of extracts of poems in the story and he even writes letters to her . The story is based on post world war II so letter writing was in rage at that time . Allie is a bold and bubbly character who doesn’t mind saying her mind and that makes all the difference.
Seriously I LOVED every page of the book and would strongly recommend this book to everyone especially people who like romances ..
