It has been a while since I last added a Discussion post .So today I am adding a Discussion post which discuss Why I Started Blogging particularly Book Blogging ..
Without much Ado let’s get started –

1.To Share my views on Books : I particularly begin Book Blogging because of my love for books .From the very beginning , I loved books especially Enid Blyton’s Famous Five and Secret Seven. Then later I liked Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia etc etc . My motto of this book Blog was to share my thoughts and opinions on the books I read and Fangirl about them .

2.To Meet New Book lovers: The second reason perhaps is to meet new Book lovers. I literally live in a place where youngsters like me DON’T PREFER BOOKS so I started this Blog to connect with other readers and share the bookish love . Now I seriously love to hear other bloggers opinions on a particular book.

3.To Get Free Books: I never dreamed that I would get free books just for my honest opinion on a particular book . It was too good to be true but YES!! IT DOES HAPPEN. I love this part of Blogging .I haven’t received any physical arc’s but I received couple of e-arc’s which actually made my day .

4.To Be Updated About Latest Book Release: One thing I particularly love about Blogging is that I am constantly aware of New Releases and other important bookish announcements fro various blogs. This helps me in planning my upcoming reads and which one to read and which to discard . Now I am more aware of the book release and all.

5.To Become A Competitive Reader- As a Blogger I have become a very competitive reader .Now I plan my reads , my reviews and my tbr tooo . I am constantly under pressure about Reading , reviewing and posting . This has helped me to come in tune with other readers and bloggers.

6. WordPress Blogging is Easy:  I think Book Blogging became more easy with WordPress. It offers a amazing interface that I love to Blog more and more . Also we have our lovely website with our domain and this gives a extra edge to Blogging.

I THINK ALL THE REASONS STATED ABOVE WILL MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND THE REASON FOR BOOK BLOGGING .

IF YOU ARE A NEW BLOGGER ,YOU WILL FIND THIS POST MOTIVATING . IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED BLOGGER ,YOU CAN RELATE TO THIS POST .

What are your thoughts on the above Discussion post??Let me know your opinions in the comment section ….

  1. I share your reasons except being a competitive reader as I don’t like the sound of “competitive” and as far as Worpress is concerned it’s totally true if you are on WP.com but I’m on WP.org and that means freedom and … lots of work LOL
I also began blogging for the challenge. I wanted to master the technical aspects. Plus create something of my own where I could let my spirit and creativity lose.

    1. Oh I know !!My reason if becoming a competitive reader came much later . It happened when I started Blogging.
Btw I love the WordPress interface . Is wp.org different from wp.com ??
I hope you have mastered the technical aspects also. Blogging also makes my creative juices flow through writing also.

  2. Great post Priyasha!

I became a book blogger to get myself reacquainted with my passion for reading. I was in my final year of college, and it hit me that I hadn’t read for pleasure in 3 years. It really depressed me, as reading was my LIFE before all that. So in January of this year I decided to make my blog and set a goal for 100 books read for the entire year. It’s been an amazing life change, but I wouldn’t change it for a second!

    1. Thank you so much ,Bentley!!
I think you did the right thing of getting reacquainted with your love for books. I love to read but as a high schooler I don’t get much time in midst of all the things . I am lucky to have started the book and share my opinions on books with you guys..
I am glad that you too took a major decision which changed your life.
I personally think ‘Reading for pleasure’ is the best sort of reading … Sorry for rambling πŸ˜‡

      1. My book is an urban fantasy, about a young woman – 22 yrs old – who have escaped a research facility where she spent nine years as a captive. She’s half fee, half human and as the book progresses, she discovers her clan had offered her as a scapegoat to the research facility to keep the human government away from them.
        Here’s a brief blurb:

Wanted neither by the Seelie or unseelie, the Dhiultadh are originally a mixed breed, part Seelie, part unseelie. They took refuge on earth where they thrived with their anonymity centuries ago, but those who knew them or knew about them considered the Dhiultadh one of the highest predators in the world.
Roxanne Whitmore Fosch had a perfectly normal life at the age of twelve. Cool, popular, pretty, smart. She had the perfect dreams of a successful and prosperous future. At the age of twenty two she was a commodity. A fugitive. She was being hunted.
As Roxanne embarks in the dangerous quest to search for half-truths about her past, she begins to realize she’s not just an abnormal human but a rarity even among her fee peers, and that human scientists aren’t the only ones interested in her, but far more dangerous creatures with other nefarious ideas in mind.

  3. The reason I blog about books is because when I read something fantastic I want to tell the whole world and I want to know if other people like it as much as I do. It’s also a great way of cataloging your reads if your memory is terrible like mine is! Love this post!

  4. I share similar thoughts. Except, I would add that it’s also a way to help me keep track of what I’ve read. As I’ve mentioned to someone the other day, many times, I would forget the little details of what I’ve read (ok, sometimes bigger stuff too, say a character’s name!). So in a sense, blogging is my way to catalog both my thoughts and reading experience.

    1. Oho great that you and me both share the same opinions but I think your point of tracking what I’ve read is incredible . Btw I use Goodreads in that case . Definitely !! Blogging is a way of capitulation of thoughts and reading experiences .

  5. I started blogging because of your first and last options , I used to do reviews on goodreads but it felt like people just press like but dont necessarily read or interact , and like you I only have one non-online friend who likes reading .

Also , Hurrah for Famous five . Famous Five , Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew were my first reasons to enter the world of reading πŸ™‚

Also , Also , Cool post

    1. I understand your dilemma , Goodreads is not much interactive as Blogging and I love hearing other bloggers and readers opinions . Omg !! You are lucky to have some one to talk about books . As a high schooler my friends despise reading .
What a coincidence!!, my reasons for reading was Famous Five and Nancy Drew . I still re-read those books sometimes ….
Thank you so much for your last line 😍
Btw I was trying to view you blog but it doesn’t open ??

      1. Yeah , but when i was at high school , my friends were either annoyed or mocked me for reading books and comics , it was when i entered medical college that I met my only book reading and loving friend .

I wish I could read those books again , but my to be read pile is so huge that I feel guilty when i re-read a book instead of all the other books I have bought and haven’t read yet

strange that it doesn’t open , try this link – ablogaboutbook.wordpress.com

  8. I’ve been thinking about book blogging for a long time and never actually started it until yesterday. I completely agree with you (you’re right, your blog is motivating) and can’t wait to share my view on books since I also cannot do it as often as I would like to in my social circle.
You have now become my first follow on WordPress πŸ™‚

  9. Great post and I can concur with every reason. I think its only if you live in certain countries like the USA you get lots of print arcs, so I satisfy myself with the e-ARCS which work very well. And couldn’t agree more about WordPress for commenting. Wish I had starting out there and not Blogger.

    1. Yeah !! Living in USA is advantageous for Arc’s btw I am fine with e-arc’s as I live in India .
I love the Blogging Community and it’s fun especially in WordPress .I followed you on Blogger πŸ“–

  10. I’ve only recently started to blog, and I have to say, my main reason for book blogging is that I love reading (obviously) and sharing my views, like you said. It’s a great place for me to put in words how I felt about a book. It’s not necessarily about views and likes for me, it’s more about having that space to do what I like (though I have no problem with likes and views XD) I completely agree with this though! I wish I’d started sooner πŸ™‚

  11. I started book blogging thanks to a friend, who also book blogs! She kept telling me how much fun it is and how great the community is, and I absolutely LOVE to read, so I figured, why not? I’m so glad I started! I’m constantly blown away by how nice and welcoming everyone is. Definitely one of my better choices!

  12. I started a book blog in September, but I didn’t understand how everything worked. Over time though, I realized that things don’t have to be perfect. It’s ok to make mistakes. I started my book blog because I wanted a place where I could feel welcomed and I think having a site where you can pour your heart and soul into is a great thing.

  13. Really like this post, thank you for sharing. Totally agree with the points you share. There’s nothing like being able to tell folk about the books you discovered and enjoyed. Even better when people share your enjoyment. Happy reading in 2018!

  14. I also started blogging because of my love of books. I found that I kept getting direct messages from my friends because they knew I loved the romance genre but maybe didn’t want to put on blast for the world to know they enjoyed it. So instead of coming up with a list for each person I can just refer to my blog. I do love to take pictures as well so I have enjoyed being able to be creative through writing the reviews and taking pictures. I have also found I love community and it has been nice getting Introduced to authors I did not know about! Loved the post.

  16. I’m totally with you on number 2. I live in a place where people don’t really read that much. I mean, they might read occasionally but books don’t grab them like they do for us bookworms. That’s why I started blogging.
