Plot –

Attachments is the first novel written by Rainbow Rowell, published in 2011. The story follows a man whose job it is to read email correspondence for the employees of his company, to make sure they are in compliance with policy.

In long emails, pals Beth and Jennifer trade gossip over their romances—Beth with her marriage-phobic boyfriend, Chris, and Jennifer with her baby-mania-stricken husband, Mitch. What they don’t know is that the newly hired computer guy, Lincoln, an Internet security officer charged with weeding out all things unnecessary or pornographic, is reading their messages. But lonely Lincoln lets the gals slide on their inappropriate office mail and gets hooked on their soapy dalliances, falling head over heels for the unlucky-in-love Beth.

This is not the first book I have read of Rainbow Rowell, but I still loved the book. The book is based on the late 20th century, when the Internet has just began , &people used E-mails to communicate unlike today. So thus book sounds interesting and unique in the midst of instant messaging app’s world. The plot is engrossing and engaging with loads of humour. One thing I found different in this book was that the both the protagonists(Lincoln &Beth ) don’t talk to each other directly ,until the last 20 pages(Oops!!A spoiler). The characters of Beth,Lincoln and Jennifer are well developed. The emails between Beth and Jennifer comprises of a larger part of the book. The pacing of the book is good.I throughly enjoyed the book.
